The Chicago Police and Firefighter Training Academy (CPFTA) program provides training for students interested in careers in public safety, law enforcement, criminal justice, and fire science. Monterrey has helped develop this 2-year program by collaborating with Chicago Public Schools, the Chicago Police Department (CPD), the Chicago Fire Department (CFD), and the City Colleges of Chicago (CCC). The program trains up to 250 public and non-public high school students each year. Monterrey Security provides 20 hour security guard training for students who are interested in becoming Security Guards. By completing the 20 hour class students can obtain a PERC card which give them the ability to be a security guard. Monterrey Security has trained 50 students and has even hired graduates who excel in the class.

In order for the student to be a part of the CPFTA, students must be a high school sophomore, a Chicago resident, Complete an on-line application, must have a GPA of 2.5 or better, attendance must be 95% or better, two letters of recommendation, pass a drug test, complete a background check, and go to a program interview.
