Monterrey Security Gives Back to the Community

Since our founding more than 20 years ago, Monterrey Security has maintained an unwavering commitment to supporting the community we call home.

Since our founding more than 20 years ago, Monterrey Security has maintained an unwavering commitment to supporting the community we call home.

Our founder, Juan Gaytan, grew up in Pilsen and when he looked to open his business, it was the only place he considered for the headquarters.

Even as the company has grown to become one of the largest and most respected security companies in the country, Monterrey has remained based in the same neighborhood, with a focus on giving back to those who call it home and supporting the neighboring businesses also based there.

We give back by supporting schools and charities that create opportunities for disadvantaged children. We have also recently expanded into focusing on creating health and wellness programs for families, as well as financial literacy programs.

Among the specific programs we support are the Gads Hill Center, which provides early childhood development, learning support and after-school care for those in the Pilsen, North Lawndale, Little Village and Back Of The Yards neighborhoods.

Each year, we donate hundreds of coats to Catholic Charities as part of their annual drive for families in need, while we have also donated services for events like the Chicago Bears Care Gala and the opening by the Chicago Cubs of Little Cubs Field in Humboldt Park. We are also strong supporters of the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life.

We are particularly proud of our relationship with Cristo Rey Jesuit High School, just down the block from our offices, where we have supported scholarship programs and trips to Washington D.C. Beyond that, we participate in the school’s Corporate Internship Program, creating opportunities for students to reduce the burden of financing their college education through an innovative work-study program.

Most recently, we have initiated a partnership with Englewood’s Greater Harvest Missionary Baptist Church.

Recognizing the struggles that many families – including our own employees – are enduring during the COVID-19 pandemic, we partnered with the church to provide dozens of families with holiday dinner needs. We are also actively participating in their “Everything But The House” program, where we sponsor one family to receive furniture and other furnishings to help make their house a home.

As part of our commitment to our community, we continue to find ways to work with others to support families across the city.

We are appreciative of those partnerships and for the opportunity to continue serving others.
